What “free” means

You do not pay Ontario Academic Consulting a consulting fee for private career college registration assistance. You remain responsible for applicable tuition, institutional charges and other third-party costs.

Before you commit

We encourage you to consider each institution’s registration status, program approval where applicable, educational quality, total costs and how relevant the credential is to your intended career.

Transparency

In some cases, Ontario Academic Consulting may receive referral or recruitment compensation from participating educational institutions. These arrangements do not change what you pay us — private career college registration assistance remains free for students. Not all institutions or programs provide referral compensation, including certain skilled-trades training programs. Ask us anytime about our institutional relationships.

Important — OSAP disclaimer

Ontario Academic Consulting provides educational guidance and general information about the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP). We do not complete, submit, or manage OSAP applications on behalf of students. Students remain responsible for their own applications, information, documentation, and submissions. OSAP eligibility and funding decisions are determined by the Government of Ontario and the relevant program administrators, and we do not guarantee funding or approval.

Frequently asked questions

Will you fill out or submit my OSAP application?

No. We explain the process, the documents usually involved and what to expect, but you complete and submit your own application and remain responsible for the information in it.

What is the difference between a grant and a loan?

In general, grants are funding you are not expected to repay, while loans must be repaid. Your funding may include a combination of both. We explain how this may apply to your situation and why it matters for planning.

Who handles repayment after I finish school?

Student loan repayment is managed through the National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC). We can explain its role, your repayment obligations and the repayment assistance programs that may be available.

When should I contact my school’s financial aid office instead?

Questions about institution-specific documents, enrollment confirmation or decisions on your file can only be answered by your institution’s financial aid office or an official government service. We help you identify when and how to contact them.

Additional Educational Guidance

Educational Pathway Planning

Choosing a pathway involves more than choosing an institution. We help you weigh your academic background, career interests, finances and options — whether a degree, diploma, career college program or skilled-trades pathway fits best — and find realistic alternatives when your first goal isn’t immediately achievable.

Skilled Trades & Career Training

We help you explore training opportunities, entry requirements and program structures. Depending on the occupation, completing a program may not by itself qualify you to practise a regulated trade — apprenticeship hours, exams, licensing or certification may also be required.

Program Changes & Transfers

Changing programs, applying to another institution or investigating transfer opportunities — we help you understand the academic and financial implications first. Transfer credits and recognition of previous studies are decided by the receiving institution.

Ongoing Educational Guidance

Questions don’t end at admission. Where included in an agreed service arrangement, we help you review your academic objectives, discuss emerging challenges and find the right institutional resources.
